Lyte Innovations

About

An engineer who consults.
Independent. Small on purpose. Built around shipping work.

Who

I’m Mohammed Nour — the engineer and founder behind Lyte Innovations. I’m based in the D.C. metro. My foundation is a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School and an AS in Computer Engineering and Mathematics from Montgomery College. I came into a field dominated by the trades through the CS and EE path, which means I read code and read packets where most people read labels and wiring diagrams. I founded Lyte Innovations in 2018 to take what I’d learned building complex systems and apply it where it could move faster.

The name

A “lyte” is a unit of light. The mark is an exploding light bulb — the moment an idea becomes real. The name is a deliberate double meaning: light as clarity (the path through a hard problem), and the explosion as the eureka — translated into something that actually ships.

This is the entire ethos: ideas, made real.

Where this comes from

Before Lyte, I spent a decade in senior engineering roles across federal, pharmaceutical, life-sciences, and data-center facilities in the D.C. corridor — commissioning, integrating, and leading building automation across the buildings that can’t afford to break. What that environment teaches you is rigor — how to think about systems that fail expensively, how to ship hardware to a deadline, how to run a project across a dozen people who don’t all speak the same engineering language.

Lyte Innovations exists to take that rigor and apply it to small, fast-moving teams — the founders, technical operators, and product builders who want to move at startup speed without breaking things in startup ways.

How Lyte runs

Lyte Innovations LLC is registered in Washington, DC. The firm runs engineering and AI consulting alongside an active portfolio of R&D projects (see Work). Engagements are scoped as either Setup Services— a defined deliverable, a defined timeline — or Ongoing Management, a recurring engineering partnership. Both models are detailed under Services.

We do not white-label, subcontract, or resell. Every engagement is run by the operator behind the firm.
